Description

The Circlip and Spire Clip are both types of retaining clips used in mechanical assemblies to secure components onto shafts or within bores. Circlips, also known as retaining rings, come in internal and external varieties and are typically ring-shaped with open ends. They’re installed into machined grooves to create a shoulder that prevents the component from sliding off the shaft. Spire clips, on the other hand, resemble coiled springs with tapered ends that expand when installed into a groove, exerting pressure to hold the component in place.
